Kelly D. Hancock was born in Spokane, Washington, on May 26, 1949.
He received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University
of Washington in 1971 and his law degree with honors from Florida
State University in 1975. He served as an Assistant State Attorney
in Florida from 1975 to 1989 and as the Chief of the Homicide Division
of Broward County from 1982 to 1989.
Kelly
has personally prosecuted some of South Florida's most well-publicized
murder trials. Four of his trials were featured on the syndicated
television program On Trial. The television movie, Murder or
Mercy was based on one of his most celebrated trials. He has
appeared on "20/20," "60 Minutes," and "Prime
Time Live" and was named by South Florida Magazine as "Best
Prosecutor in South Florida."
Kelly
left the State Attorney's Office in 1989 to move to the private
sector. With a desire to continue representing victims, he became
an associate with Krupnick Campbell Malone & Roselli.
He became a partner in 1992, and the firm's name was changed to
Krupnick Campbell Malone Roselli Buser Slama & Hancock in 1994.
He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar
Association, the Broward County Bar Association and The Florida
Bar. He is also licensed to practice in the District of Columbia.
Kelly has consistently received an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell
Law Directory, which is the highest rating given by this publication.
Kelly is actively involved with the Broward County Trial Lawyers'
Association, the Southern Trial Lawyers' Association, the American
Board of Trial Advocates, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers,
and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Kelly is an active member of the Broward Christian Lawyers' Association
and is a Deacon at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. He also serves
on the Board of Advisors for Pine Crest Preparatory School, the
Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Florida,
and the Board of Visitors for the Florida State University College
of Law.
Kelly
was selected to be listed in the exclusive publication, The Best
Lawyer in America. He was chosen by his peers
as one of the "Best in the Bar" in South Florida and
has been recently included in Florida Super Lawyers. |
