Justin and Cap Ferguson also have a story that goes deeper than the courtroom. They’ve been best friends since college. That camaraderie has turned into a rare kind of teamwork, shared preparation, constant communication, and a relentless focus on doing the work the right way for the clients who trust them at the most difficult moments of their lives.

Justin’s path to plaintiffs’ work gives him a unique perspective on litigation. He practiced civil litigation at a prominent Florida defense firm, where he represented corporate clients and insurance companies. He now uses that experience to anticipate the defense’s playbook and press cases forward for justice for those he represents. Cap Ferguson brings a different kind of courtroom foundation, one forged in public service. Cap chose to serve our country on active duty as an Air Force Judge Advocate. As one of the youngest Special Trial Counsel in Air Force history, he sought justice for victims of crime in courtrooms across the world. He now brings that same intensity, preparation, and trial-first mindset to our clients and their families.

These backgrounds and teamwork have led this litigation duo to secure more than $24 million for clients in just the first six months they litigated together.

Justin and Cap are led by their trial team leader, partner Joseph J. Slama. Joe is board-certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer and has been widely recognized for over 40 years as a skilled and uncompromising trial attorney with a varied practice based upon extensive experience. Having that kind of mentor and leader at the table raises everyone’s standards, and it’s a big part of why this team is able to take on powerful defendants and push cases toward real accountability.
