Aleida Mielke is a partner at Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock, where her practice is focused on representing patients and families harmed by medical negligence. She brings more than twenty-five years of legal experience to that work, including decades defending physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in complex malpractice and professional‑liability matters. That defense‑side background gives her an uncommon command of the medicine, the records, the experts, and the strategies that drive how malpractice cases are litigated and resolved, and she now applies that knowledge to pursue accountability for the people on the other side of the case.
Aleida’s record reflects strength in both the trial court and on appeal. In federal maritime litigation, she secured a complete victory for her client following an eight‑day bench trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida in a hotly contested and high-profile claim. After presenting oral argument before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, she obtained an affirmation of that judgment on appeal. Her broader appellate work includes published decisions in Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, among them a Fourth District matter involving a hospital defendant. Before joining Krupnick, she practiced for many years on the defense side in Fort Lauderdale and most recently served as a shareholder at a national litigation firm, where her work spanned medical malpractice, professional liability, complex litigation, maritime, and appellate matters.
Beyond her casework, Aleida is a contributing author on issues at the intersection of medicine and the law. She has co‑authored articles on malpractice mitigation under epidemic and pandemic conditions and on liability and immunity issues affecting long‑term care facilities. By understanding how the defense attorneys and adjusters will evaluate her clients’ claims, she is able to precisely tailor her arguments and presentation of evidence to obtain maximum justice for her clients.
Aleida earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, earning the Dean’s Merit Scholarship each year. She has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1996 and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh and First Circuits. She is fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language and is conversant in French.
